Llandudno Sailing Club is a family based dinghy sailing club with a clubhouse situated on the promenade at Llandudno, with excellent views over the whole of Llandudno Bay. As well as a having a full Club Racing and Social programme, the Club runs Training sessions and has an excellent record of enabling complete beginners to quickly become competent Club dinghy sailors.

The Club has an excellent record of running National Championships, and usually hosts one every year during July or August.

The Club racing programme runs between late March and early November, with racing every Sunday morning at 10:00. During the summer months there is also racing at 19:00 on Wednesday nights, and training sessions for members wanting to learn or to improve on Saturdays. The Club has a limited number of boats available for training by new members.

Subscriptions vary dependant on the category of membership required, but a typical family membership would consist of a £10 joining fee and an annual fee of about £65.

The only other expenses are for personal equipment. You would need a wet suit; about £50-£60 should get you one suitable for summer sailing, a buoyancy aid, about £30, and some wet boots for about £20.

A Club boat would probably be available for you for training purposes for about a season. After that you will probably want to buy a suitable boat, and you should be able to find one from £300 to as high as you like, but it is unlikely that you would need to pay more than about £1000 to be competitive in Club racing.
